Know Before You Come



Below you will find the "life-jackets" and "paddles" of your experience with Alpine. In other words, these are the essentials to making the most out of your experience and adventure. Because Alpine covers a wide variety of activities you should visit the page related to any adventures you hope to participate in.

Pointers for Campers

What To Bring:

You may be wondering what to bring. Make sure you don’t forget these items, they will definitely be necessities!

  • Additional money. You will have the opportunity to buy souvenirs/t-shirts and snacks throughout the week. (All these items are optional) But remember; if you bring money make sure you don’t spend it all the first day!
  • Bible, notebook and pencils
  • Sleeping bag or blanket/linens and pillow
  • Towels, washcloth, & toiletries
  • Flashlight
  • Clothing that complies w/ clothing policy
  • Jacket & jeans for cooler weather
  • 2 pairs of shoes (see clothing policy)
  • Water shoes or water sandals
  • Modest bathing suit (see clothing policy)

What Not To Bring:

  • Electronic Devices (cell phones, games, headphones, ipods, etc)
  • Weapons
  • Tobacco
  • Illegal drugs
  • Alcohol
  • Cabins are not equipped to store candy or food. Please do not bring snacks

Clothing Policy

Clothing must be neat and modest. Shorts are to be no shorter than three inches above the knee. Shirts with sleeves are preferable; no bare midriffs or spaghetti straps. Conservative one-piece bathing suits for girls, boxer-type trunks for guys, are required. All shoes must have backs. Clothing must not display alcohol, tobacco, vulgarity, or secular bands. You should carry clean, "non-marking" gym shoes to the gym to play on the gym floor. The Camp reserves the right to make the final decision on any clothing considered immodest or unacceptable.

Identification

Please label all your clothing, suitcases, sleeping bags, plastic bags, and any other items you plan to bring.

Lost & Found

Make sure you hang on to your stuff, because if not you may have to do something silly in front of the whole camp to get it back!

Communication

You won’t have access to a phone, but parents love to get letters from their campers! Make sure you bring an envelope and stamp so you can let your parents know how much fun you will be having! You can also receive mail, if the senders mail it to:

Medical Information

All medicine should be turned in at the time of registration. If you have any medical problems, be sure to let your counselor know.

Pictures

Forget your camera? No worries! We have a special photographer taking pictures throughout the week and you will have the opportunity to buy a picture CD or DVD to remember your week at camp.

Special Note

  • All participants should bring any necessary medications with them (e.g. inhalers, required prescriptions, allergy medications, or epi-pen).
  • Participants may also want to have insect repellent on trips.
  • Guests that wear contact lenses may want to consider wearing glasses on trips or carry a travel size solution kit for activities.

Medical Information

All medication should be stored in a brown paper lunch bag, labeled on the outside with the camper’s name, contents, and dosage, ready to be turned in at registration. Medication is stored in the camp clinic and will be administered according to the prescribed dosage.

Homesickness

FACT: When children receive proper communication from parents, and the camp, the homesickness intensity rates drop by 50% in first year campers. There are certain factors that put your child at a higher risk of becoming homesick. We want your child to have a great time at camp! Medical Information

If a camper has medical concerns, please be sure to inform the office staff at registration so they may inform the counselor. Please do not administer medication to campers without the camp’s knowledge.

Camper Interaction

You are welcome at services, meals, and activities, but please refrain from taking campers off campus, entering camper cabins, or assuming duties assigned to the counselor. Campers are not allowed in sponsor housing, unless authorized by the camp director. Sponsors are welcome to attend games and activities, but participation will be limited. Feel free to take pictures and/or videos.
